Post-doctoral position in Elliott Lab
Sanford Research, Center for Health Outcomes and Population Research invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral traineeship in maternal-child health and child development. Appointment is for 2 years, with the second year contingent upon satisfactory progress. This interdisciplinary experience emphasizes fetal exposures, physiology, American Indian health, community-based participatory research, and longitudinal assessment and analysis. This position will be involved in conducting analyses, writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, reports, and for presentation to academic and community audiences. Trainees will also gain experience in grantsmanship, as well as research design, planning, and execution. Dr. Amy Elliott’s lab studies the effect of prenatal and early childhood exposures on development. Al her work occurs through collaborations with investigators and communities across the United States, as well as in South Africa. This post-doctoral fellowship position will be involved in the Safe Passage Study and Environmental Influences and Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program. Trainees will be responsible for writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, reports, and for presentation to academic and community audiences.
Applications are sought whose pre-doctoral training and subsequent experience include a strong concentration in the social behavioral sciences, such as epidemiology, public health, psychology, family studies, sociology, or social work. Ideal candidates possess would expertise in multivariate statistics, including structural equation modeling and growth curve modeling, and experience in preparing research for publication in scholarly journals.
