About Us

Susan Kroger, MA
Director of Evaluation Services

Susan Kroger is a PhD candidate in Rural Sociology at South Dakota State University and holds a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from University of Northern Iowa. She has over a decade of experience in nonprofit administration, specifically in programs working with women and children. Ms. Kroger has particular experience working with underserved populations, particularly at-risk adolescents, as both a clinician and a researcher. She has extensive grant writing and project management experience. She has received specialized evaluation training and currently directs Sanford’s Population Health Evaluation Services.

 

Jamie Messerli, MS
Senior Clinical Research Specialist

Jamie Messerli holds a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from the University of North Dakota. She has been with Sanford Research since 2012 working on various projects regarding the prevention of alcohol exposed pregnancies among American Indian women, residential treatment for pregnant and postpartum women, and the health and fitness of school aged children to name a few. Ms. Messerli has extensive experience conducting, coding, and analyzing qualitative data as well as particular experience in facilitating focus groups and utilizing motivational interviewing. As an evaluator, Jamie has experience providing services for a diverse group of organizations both internally and externally providing an array of services such as, data collection, analysis, and report writing.

 

 

Alyson Becker, MPH
Senior Clinical Research Specialist

Alyson has been at Sanford Research since 2016 working with Evaluation Services. She specifically has experience working with organizations that offer healthy marriage and relationship education for several populations, expand care systems in American Indian communities, and offer suicide prevention by working with other organizations in the American Indian communities to provide a comprehensive response. Alyson also manages data for a homeless youth program.

 

   

 

Gesine E. Ziebarth, PhD
Senior Clinical Research Specialist

Gesine received her Master of Arts and PhD in human factors psychology with an emphasis on cognition from the University of South Dakota. She has recently joined evaluation services. Previously, Dr. Ziebarth worked at a science center and in this role she has acquired extensive experience in designing and implementing informal science education geared towards audiences of varied ages and backgrounds.
