The Sanford PROMISE represents a unique partnership between research scientists, school districts, educational institutions, and community partners.  The PROMISE team is committed to establishing programs that connect people to research being conducted in the region in order to build strong relationships between scientists and their communities.

Scientist Training
While most scientists have years of experience, it doesn’t necessarily mean they understand how to effectively translate their research for a wide audience.  Scientists and students at Sanford Research/USD have the opportunity to become Trainees or Interns in Education.  Each PROMISE Trainee in Education or Science Intern receives education training, empowering them to generate hands-on science lessons with relevance to their own research projects.  Developed content is utilized for PROMISE programming and community learning.
